Case Management & Student Conduct Work

Offered in partnership with the Higher Education Case Managers Association (HECMA), the Case Management and Student Conduct Track is designed to bring together administrators in this growing field for an in-depth look at the core foundations and standards of case management and its important intersections with student conduct. HECMA (2013) defines a higher education case manager as someone who serves “their University [institutions] and individual students by coordinating prevention, intervention, and support efforts across campus and community systems to assist at-risk students and students facing crises, life traumas, and other barriers that impede success.”

As a result of participating in the Case Management and Student Conduct track, participants will (including but not be limited to):

  • Understand the historical evolution, core tenets, principles, and best practices of case management
  • Discuss historical evolution and current trends in higher education case management
  • Learn how to incorporate equity and inclusion practices into case management
  • Consider key constituents and partners, including how to build campus and community partnerships to strengthen case management
  • Explore practices for assessment and evaluating case management programs and related learning using the CAS Standards
  • Develop philosophical and practical tools to support prevention, intervention, and supportive resources for students
