The Student Organization Conduct Track is designed for conduct practitioners and student organization advisors who wish to develop knowledge and skills related to navigating student organization misconduct and developmental accountability approaches. This track may be appropriate for professionals in student conduct and adjacent work, including student activities, fraternity and sorority life, national organizations and headquarters, and athletics, who support character development for student groups.
As a result of participating in the Student Organization Conduct track, participants will (including but not be limited to):
- Identify resources for developing and reviewing policies and procedures for organizational conduct
- Understand commonalities and distinctions between student organization conduct and other types of behavior resolution, from risk identification to report resolution
- Develop strategies for understanding and addressing root cause of organization misconduct
- Recognize the spectrum of hazing and approaches to hazing prevention/reduction practices
- Identify different investigative teams and approaches, including conditions appearing in full-scale investigations and fact-finding meetings
- Discuss strategies for relationship building with campus and community partners supporting student organizations
- Understand varying influences impacting organization behavior
