The Senior Conduct Professionals track is designed for practitioners who wish to focus on advanced and complex issues and topics germane to leadership of student conduct. This track may be appropriate for directors, aspiring directors, and other seasoned conduct and adjacent professionals, including deans of students and senior student affairs officers (e.g., Assistant/Associate/Vice President for Student Affairs).
As a result of participating in the Senior Conduct Professionals track, participants will (including but not be limited to):
- Understand the knowledge and skills essential to senior leadership of student conduct
- Learn strategies for communicating to and about student conduct matters to diverse constituencies
- Develop approaches to assessment of student conduct programs and students’ learning and development
- Develop strategies to manage cases that cross into behavioral threat, involuntary withdrawal/leave, and care realms
- Discuss emerging trends and topics in student conduct, including virtual behavior
- Consider how to address issues related to expressive freedoms and campus protests
- Apply emerging and advanced law and policy to student conduct policies and procedures
